Under the theme ‘East Meets West’ Ministry of Culture presents Emirati Musical Evening at 38th Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in Jordan

To introduce the aesthetic and richness of authentic Emirati arts, the Ministry of Culture organised an artistic musical evening at the 38th session of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts 2024, which is being held in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in the ancient city of Jerash, until August 3.

Led by Emirati opera singer Fatima Al Hashmi, the musical evening also hosted an orchestra from the UAE entitled ‘East Meets West’. Al Hashmi dazzled the audience at the festival's northern stage with her musical performances inspired by classical music and oriental melodies. The performances showcased sophistication and creativity, featuring 24 musicians who played Western rhythms and jazz music, led by maestro Fadel Al Hamidi.

The Ministry's participation is part of its mandate to promote Emirati culture at the regional and international stage. Such events allow the artists to interact directly with audiences regardless of their artistic and musical interests.

The Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts was established in 1981 and is held annually in the ancient city of Jerash in northern Jordan. The city boasts a rich historical and creative legacy. The festival presents performances by local and international groups and musical and singing evenings by Arab and international artists.
