The Ministry Of Culture Prints And Publishes 4 Phd Thesis About Arabic Language And Arabic Literature, In Collaboration With The College Of Islamic And Arabic Studies In Dubai

Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development announced printing and publishing a number of PhD research and postgraduate studies about the Arabic language, literature and arts, and its utilization in government and private institutions. This initiative, in collaboration with the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Dubai, aims at supporting the Arabic language in universities, promoting Arabic language related researches and enriching libraries with valuable cultural and knowledge additions, which can benefit researchers, scholars, writers and the general public and enhance the value and position of the Arabic language. As an initial step, four PhD thesis were selected to be printed and published during the coming period. This came during the visit of the delegation of the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies to the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in Dubai. The Delegation included Dr. Ahmed Rahmani, Dean of the Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research , Dr. Essam Eid, Assistant Dean of Post Graduate Studies for Academic Affairs, in addition to four female students with doctorate degrees. The students signed printing and publishing contracts with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development on the sidelines of the session which discussed prospects of future cooperation in the fields of Arabic language, arts and literature. The session was attended by Fatima Al Nassour, Head of Knowledge Content Department, the writer Basma Younis and Dr. Hamda Al Hammadi from the Ministry of Culture. “This initiative comes as a result of long meetings between the Ministry and the College over the past few months, were both sides focused on the importance of reflecting the ease, simplicity and usefulness of the Arabic language to benefit both ordinary and specialized readers.”, commented Fatima Al Nosour. Al Nusour stressed that the college owns a large number of important researches in the field of Arabic language, and that the selection of four of them comes as an initial step in preparation for further cooperation, in supporting strengthening the role of Arabic language, one of the most important pillars of the UAE national identity. Researches include; Linguistic Planning in the UAE - A Sociological Study, by Dr. Aisha Ibrahim Mohammed, Al Ajaibei and Al Gharaibi in the Structure of UAE Narratives, by Dr. Aisha Mohammed Abdullah Al-Shehhi, Criticism Correspondence in Modern Arabic Periodicals - Approaches to Criticism in the period between 1900-1960,by Dr. Noura Obeid Omeir Al-Rumaithi, in addition to A Study about the Artistic Construction of Poetry by Dr. Hamda Hassan Ali Al-Hammadi. On the other hand, Dr. Ahmed Rahmani lauded the role of the Ministry of Culture in the development and support of the Arabic language, stressing that the attention of the leadership of the United Arab Emirates to the value of the Arabic language had a great impact in strengthening its position in various institutions, in addition to its role as a carrier of Arab culture and genuine Emirati values and traditions. “Chosen researches by the Ministry of Culture discuss the role of the Arabic language in public and private institutions and its possible development, in addition to the arts of Arabic poetry and narration. They are undoubtedly an addition to UAE libraries in particular and Arab libraries in general, offering critical studies as part of a general project concerned with the renaissance of the Arabic language and its literature.”, commented Dr. Mohammed Abdul Rahman.
