
Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth, met with a delegation of members of the Advisory Board of the Middle East Policy Centre at Rand, led by Michael Rich, Director and CEO of the Foundation.
During the meeting, Her Excellency stressed the importance of strengthening channels of dialogue and cooperation to establish peace and tolerance as common human values in the region and the world, especially in the cultural field. Culture plays an active role in building trust between people and communities and is instrumental in shaping a better future for coming generations.
Her Excellency noted the importance of the Abraham Accords and their role in opening wider prospects for peace in the region. The peace agreement, which is in line with the UAE’s vision for peace and led by its leadership, will lead to more opportunities for sustainable development and provide sustainable progress to people of the region.
During the meeting, Her Excellency shed light on the various cultural development initiatives in the UAE, stressing on some of the key initiatives in the culture sector. She spoke extensively about culture as a key focus area for comprehensive sustainable development of the country. As it promotes the values of coexistence and human cooperation and fosters dialogue with various countries and governments in the world.
H.E. Noura Al Kaabi also presented the UAE’s cultural and creative industries strategy that the Ministry of Culture has developed with the aim of enhancing the contribution of the creative economy to the national GDP and strengthening regional and international cooperation in the cultural and creative sector.
