Al Dhafra Fort, located in the Hosn Al Sirra area, approximately 30 km east of Madinat Zayed, is considered the main gateway to the Al Dhafra region in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Excavations have revealed the remains of a mudbrick enclosure with a square tower in its northeastern corner, dating back to the 18th century AD. The preserved sections include parts of the northern and western walls, built from fragile grey clay bricks mixed with fine sand. Today, a reconstructed structure stands on the site, hosting cultural and heritage activities throughout the year, along with a museum and exhibitions that highlight the region’s archaeological and cultural significance.
