Cultural Summer Program Organize Awareness Workshops About The History Of The UAE

As part of the strategy of the national program Cultural Summer, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, to preserve the national identity, a series of educational lectures about the "UAE Heritage" were organized during the past week, in addition to a number of visits to museums and archaeological sites across the UAE. “This comes as part of the program’s attempt to raise awareness about the true history of the UAE among the new generation. Studies and researches conducted by a number of archeologists in different parts of the country, prove that traces of human existence on the land of the UAE dates back to thousands of years. Students were also introduced to UAE oases, tools used earlier in history, such as pottery jars, swords and daggers, in addition to gold and silver coins from other countries.”, commented Ahmed Al Suraei, Director of the cultural centers Department at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development. “Lectures and workshops were conducted by the archaeological specialist and expert Mohammed Al-Balawneh, who has unlimited knowledge about the history of the UAE. The Cultural Center in Fujairah also organized a trip for participants in the program to the falcon museum in Dubai. Students were introduced to the different types of falcons, their history and the interest of the UAE and Arabs in general in falcons over the ages.
