
His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, said that the Ministry was keen to adopt and implement government accelerators, which is a new government approach that will accelerate the achievement of the National Agenda of the UAE Vision 2021. The Ministry aims to utilize accelerators to achieve huge achievements in various fields, including the 25 different services it offers to various segments of the society including individuals and institutions, in addition to its various scopes of work. His Excellency pointed out that the adoption of government accelerators as a platform to address challenges and achieve goals over a short period of time has become one of the Ministry's top priorities in its various programs and services. It would accelerate achievements, consolidate the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation and also encourage integration between the ministry and end users including institutions and individuals. Sheikh Nahyan further stressed that the success of Emirati entrepreneurship in the cultural and knowledge fields stems from the support of cultural and knowledge development by our wise leadership represented by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Deputy Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Their Highnesses, Members of the Supreme Council of the UAE, Rulers of the UAE. “Specialized and innovative teams have been formed, extremely efficient supervisors have been provided and intensive programs have been developed to contribute to the success and development of services as part of the government accelerators.”, noted His Excellency . He added work groups worked extensively on accelerating a number of services, simplifying procedures and insuring customer happiness on the other hand. “The Ministry’s main concern was to eliminate the common use of documents in government services and encourage the reliance on smart entry portals to cancel documents involvement when requesting its services. To achieve this, the Ministry re-engineered around 16 of its services, reducing the rate of documents involvement by up to 52%.”, added The Minister. The ministry also updated customers data through smart entry and established platforms which doesn’t require ID cards in case of login through smart access and service requests. Some of the Ministry’s developed services include; The international numbering service (ISBN), availed by 1380 users, participation in the Ministry’s cultural centers activities service, availed by 9954 users, book purchase and promotion service, availed by 44 users, renting theatres and halls , availed by 150 individuals and institutions, book printing services, availed by more than 47 institutions and individuals, ministry’s public libraries membership with a yearly average of 322 members and book and multimedia lending service, availed by 4670 users.
