
The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development concluded yesterday evening in Abu Dhabi, Ajman and Ras Al Khaimah its Eid theatrical performances which was hosted to be a reason for happiness during the festive season and to support the UAE theatrical movement and its creative and cultural production. The shows continued during the days of Eid and was attended by a large audience from different nationalities including citizens and residents. Shows took place on the first day of Eid with the play "Bye Bye TV" which is produced and written by Salem Al-Junaibi on the stage of the National Theater in Abu Dhabi over the course of four days. The theater of the Ministry's Center in Ajman hosted the second play “Transit” on the first, second and third days of Eid. The play is directed by Marwan Abdullah and written by Talal Mahmoud. On the other hand, the theater of the ministry's center in Ras Al Khaimah hosted the play "Al Basha Fe Warta" directed by Mohammed Al-Qattan and written by Hamad Al-Hammadi on the first, second and third days of Eid. “The ministry is keen to provide the appropriate environment for creative nationals in all creative fields. The ministry's strategy calls for the enhancement of the artistic movement and the continuous cooperation with all cultural institutions and artists not only inside the country, but also to raise the cultural level of the country's citizens in various fields including theatre.” Commented Yasser Al-Gergawi, Director of Cultural Events Department at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development Al-Gergawi stressed that the ministry, under the directives of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, has always sought to provide all forms of support and care for young creative artists in all cultural, artistic and literary fields in order to encourage Emirati youth to innovate. This comes within the framework of investing in the efforts and energies of young people which would ultimately make them capable of expressing their vision and perceptions. He added that the Ministry is also keen to educate the public through the presentation of Emirati theatrical plays aimed at cultural development and the support of the theatrical movement in the state.
