The Higher Committee organizing the program announced the formation of a committee including a number of artists, writers and specialists from the UAE, to select promising new young talents participating in the training courses of the program in various artistic fields, including theater, music, visual arts and literature. “The formation of the committee aims to find young talents participating in the national program "Cultural Summer" to receive support from the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, which would help in the discovery of new energies to enrich the UAE artistic movement in general and give them the opportunity to excel in the various fields of theater, music, visual arts and literature.”, commented Yasser Al-Gergawi, Director of Cultural Events Department at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development Al-Gergawi explained that the committee will tour the cultural centers throughout the country to find young talents as an initial stage of the selection process. They will evaluate all the candidates in all fields, chose the talented ones and submit their names to the organizing committee of the program. Al-Gergawi pointed out that members of the committee created a fixed criteria to discover and develop talents participating in the program from different age groups. The committee will not only focus on selecting participants based on artistic distinction, but will also focus on talents with unique and creative abilities and skills. “Emirati youth enjoy great energies and talents, this encouraged the ministry to launch a national program that invests these energies not only during the summer period but throughout the year. A program in which creative talents are discovered and supported continuously to hone their skills and abilities and present them to the world”, noted Al-Gergawi. On a related note, the cultural center in Madinat Zayed, in collaboration with the Drugs Section in Al Dhafra District Police Department, organized a workshop about the dangers of drug. The center also organized a workshop about e-security crimes in cooperation with the Social Support Center, in addition to a trip to Yas Water World to Al Samaliya Island in Abu Dhabi.
