During his visit to the activities of the National Program "Cultural Summer" at the Ajman Cultural Center, His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, praised the upscale level presented by the program which is organized by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in all its cultural centers across the country. His Excellency emphasized that the program succeeded in introducing a new concept of summer vacation programs, with a variety of cultural and artistic programs allowing participants to develop their creative energies and express their artistic and literary preferences through well thought educational programs which adopts a methodical approach in discovering talents in the fields of theater, music, literature and fine arts. Sheikh Nahyan further pointed out that the huge turnout from children and students from remote areas and people of determination confirms that the Ministry of Culture is on the right track and is keen to deliver its programs to all the citizens and residents living on the land of the UAE. Sheikh Nahyan was accompanied by Her Excellency Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, in addition to a number of local and cultural leaders from Ajman. During his tour, His Excellency listened to a detailed explanation from the workshops supervisors and talked with participating students and their parents. “Parents’ trust in the Ministry’s targeted and distinctive programs and initiatives, aimed at investing and developing the capabilities, talents and potentials of students to introduce to the UAE community real talents in various fields worthy of carrying the name of the UAE on the local, Arab and international levels, is clearly reflected in the increasingly rising participation level over the past 3 weeks in the workshops, programs, courses and trips organized as part of the cultural summer program.”, stressed Sheikh Nahyan who added that discovering and nurturing talents and developing the community falls within the strategic objectives of the ministry. “In the UAE, we are proud of the wise vision of the leaders of this beloved country and their interest in the status of culture and knowledge, and role in nurturing young talents and supporting their creative abilities. We highly value the great support and sincere efforts of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and their brothers Rulers of the UAE, to achieve successful cultural and knowledge development throughout the country.”, noted His Excellency. “The program, this year, was able to qualify innovators and talents in the fields of theater, music, literature and fine arts. There is no doubt that the program, with its long list of specialized and general workshops and courses, was able to cover, develop and invest in participant’s artistic and literary creativity and hobbies in a methodically manner.”, commented Sheikh Nahyan. “Our aim is to transform the cultural and knowledge centers of the Ministry across the country into hubs affecting its surrounding local environment and playing an important role in creating a knowledge based society, in the literal sense of the word. Our aim is to transfer centers to active hubs in the fields of theatres, libraries, visual arts and musical arts, which explains the ministry’s efforts in organizing this program for the first year.”, pointed His Excellency. “The development of cultural and artistic talents is one of the most important foundations of the ministry's work, as knowledge development is the basis of a knowledge based society, in which knowledge production, dissemination and application forms the basis for the development of national wealth and comprehensive renaissance. Knowledge development is also an essential tool for achieving progress in all areas of human activity. In this sense, knowledge development, revolves around the human and society, and the cultural summer program gave the ministry the opportunity to develop the talents and creativities of young age groups to contribute to the development and renaissance of their nation.”, concluded Sheikh Nahyan.
