Cultural Centers Across The UAE Mark The End Of Cultural Summer Programme After 6 Weeks Of Talent Discovery

Cultural centers across the UAE organized closing ceremonies to mark the end of the cultural summer programme, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development over the course of 6 weeks, in the presence of local leaders, partners and parents of participating students. The ceremonies reflected what has been accomplished during the first season of the program, including exhibitions displaying creative works by participants, in addition to musical and theatrical shows, reflecting the experiences, skills and talents discovered and acquired in the programme’s workshops and activities. His Excellency Brigadier General Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al-Mualla, Commander-in-Chief of Quwain Police, attended the closing ceremony of the program in Um Al Quwain cultural center, accompanied by a number of local leaders. “The Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, under the guidance of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, used the Cultural Summer Program to implement its vision and successful plan of strengthening the role of the national identity, in addition to discovering the talents and capabilities of Emirati students and employing them in serving the cultural sector in the country.”, commented Sheikh Rashid. “This vision stems from the firm belief in the ability of Emirati youth to provide true creativity and represent Emirati cultural and knowledge civilization.”, added His Excellency. “What makes the program special is that it based on a forethought method of training by professional specialists, focused on the development of the positive attitudes of students, their talents and skills, and increase their knowledge, which would help them blend in the society and engage in the further development of their talents.”, noted His Excellency. Meanwhile, Sheikh Arhamah bin Saud bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Deputy General Manager of the Union Cement Company in Ras Al Khaimah, attended the closing ceremony of the program in Ras Al Khaimah Cultural Center, accompanied by a number of local leaders. Sheikh Arhamah praised the courses and activities of the Program, stressing that it succeeded in attracting, discovering and developing talents with the help of experts and specialists in the fields of music, theater, visual arts and literature. On the other hand, Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of the Government Communication Department at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, noted that the Higher Committee organizing the program is fully satisfied with what was accomplished in the program this year. “The Higher Committee was keen to select a variety of workshops, activities and cultural and artistic competitions to meet the various interests and passions of participating students. The program was also characterized by diversity, as it instilled values preserving the national identity, national service, volunteerism, and motivating creativity and innovation among students.” Closing ceremonies taking place in Cultural centres in Abu Dhabi, Umm Al Quwain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Masafi, Al Fujairah and Dibba Al Fujairah included a number of cultural and artistic performances and displays. Including live drawing stations, exhibitions displaying artistic works by students who participated in various workshops such as visual arts and handicrafts.
