
Jordanian Minister of Culture Nabih Shaqam, representative of His Majesty King Abdullah II, praised the UAE pavilion at the Amman International Book Fair, stressing that the pavilion was able to reflect the development, prosperity and comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the UAE, in addition to reflecting a true and honorable picture of the development of the cultural and knowledge sectors in the country by Emirati intellectuals. “The UAE pavilion is a true reflection of the country's development in all fields , taking its visitors on a journey through the past, present and the future.“, added Shaqam. This came during the opening and the visit of His Excellency to the UAE pavilion, accompanied by Her Excellency Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, and His Excellency Mattar Saif Al Shamsi, Acting Ambassador of the State in Jordan, on Wednesday 4th of October. Shaqam lauded the various book collection, in addition to the Arabic calligraphy and fine arts paintings adorning the pavilion, reflecting talents of Emirati artists. He also lauded the participation of a large number of UAE cultural institutions with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, the official supporter of culture and arts in the UAE, in addition to the diversity of Arabic publications translated into other languages. Jordanian Minister of Culture thanked His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, for his outstanding role in the cultural sector in the UAE in particular and the Arab world in general, contributing to the development of the UAE . He also added that the long-standing brotherly and cultural relationships between the Kingdom of Jordan and the United Arab Emirates resulted in the development of cultural and knowledge exchange. On the other hand, Afra Al Sabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture in the UAE, passed on the greetings of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, and his appreciation to the Government and people of the Kingdom of Jordan for choosing the UAE to be the guest of honor of this year's exhibition.
