His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, has toured on Wednesday the pavilion of the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development at the 36th Sharjah International Book Fair. His Highness was accompanied by Her Excellency Noura Bint Mohamed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, in addition to a number of UAE cultural leaders, writers and publishers. Noura Al Kaabi said that the Sharjah International Book Fair over the past years has succeeded in enriching the cultural and knowledge movements in the UAE, the Gulf region and the Arab world in general. It also played an important role in promoting the UAE cultural scene, supporting the publishing and writing movements, enriching the intellectual movement and supporting writers, creative artists and promising talents. The Ministry’s pavilion at the exhibition reflects a comprehensive picture of the UAE cultural scene. It comprises more than 100 titles from the Ministry’s latest releases by Emirati creative writers in various fields. The pavilion is also home to cultural services offered by the Ministry, book signing ceremonies, in addition to e-smart services to introduce the audience to the Ministry’s releases, projects, awards and cultural and libraries services. An exhibition displaying a unique collection of the most important winning works of previous sessions of the Burda award is also organized at the Ministry’s pavilion.
